Artist Statement:

Processes Determining how to handle paint include working from direct observation, photographic reference , memory, and patterning.

Subject wise I never stray that far from landscape features, place, and life with and in, however, my medium does shift between paint, words, photography, and found objects.

Making things outside versus inside is a big element of how mark making changes. Inside work shows palimpsests of text that arise as muted poetics or subtle foundations to layers to read into pieces as icons and signs. Outside work shows movement, stillness and textures.
