Artist Statement:

Juxtaposing tactility, energy in material, and craft with warmth and playfulness in narrative, engenders a childlike sense of wonder and excitement that lends itself to children's book work. My work is an exploration of nature and the abstract forms it can create. I portray a lively side to each piece by attention to detail and a consistent color palette. Through the spontaneous use of collage, detailed pen work, and colorful washes, I am exploring my own quirky style.

Biography:

Hana Firestone is a freelance Illustrator from Portland, Maine. She has a BFA in Illustration from Maine College of Art. When Hana is not making art, she is exploring art galleries or enjoying a cup of Portland's local coffee.
