Artist Statement:
I am a graphic designer who wants to specialize in packaging. For my thesis project, I have experimented with package design in the realm of cosmetic makeup lines, influenced by my Cambodian heritage. My background in cosmetology has helped develop my artistic curiosity, making this a perfect opportunity to explore my interests. By merging cosmetology and graphic design, I produced creative designs that are innovative and stand out in two thriving industries. It challenged me to create content that respects both my passions.
Biography:
Rosetta Kong is a graphic design major attending Maine College of Art in Portland, Maine. She was born and raised in the small town of Sanford, Maine. Her future goal is to move to a big city to pursue a graphic design career in package design for cosmetology companies. She has an extensive background in both printmaking and cosmetology, and is currently working at the Ameribeauty salon as a nail technician. In her free time, she enjoys camping, traveling and playing beach volleyball with friends and family.
