Artist Statement:

People are puzzles. These interactive, modular sculptures incorporates life-size silhouettes that can be made and re-made as non-permanent stabiles and mobiles. Made of light-weight extruded polystyrene home insulation, the work is informed by Calder's mobiles, Matisse's cut-outs, and Haring's figurative sculptures.

Biography:

Peter Buotte is originally from Augusta, Maine. With an MFA, MeCA '05 and an MPS, SVA, '15, he is currently an Art Therapist for Active Duty Military Soldiers at Ft Hood TX.
