Major: Painting

Graduation Year: 2018

Artist Statement:

By writing and exhibiting art and talking and making I am disrupting and changing algorithms. I am editing apparatuses that hold me down and control my body. Queerness holds potential for the ultimate customization of life and time. The possibility of a social existence determined by chosen connections and ambivalent to biology. By expressing my queerness and actively protesting the patriarchy every day, through my work or otherwise, I am sustaining the ability for myself and other gender nonconforming people to exist safely and visibly.
These are paintings of me playing sports in high school.
