Kat Miller is a photographer from Portland, ME. She works using a 4x5 camera and color film. She is interested in capturing the juxtaposition between girlhood and womanhood through her photography. Her work navigates the disruption of innocence that occurs when young girls enter a ritualistic realm and the spiritual gain that coincides with entering womanhood. Her work has been shown locally as well as internationally. She has been featured in publications such as Refinery29 and Bricks Magazine. She will receive her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Maine College of Art in the spring of 2019. She plans on relocating to the west coast for graduate school in the hopes of bringing a new landscape into the work.
