Artist Statement:

Lauren Anderson creates installation art through small hand built ceramic and crochet pieces that involve hundreds of stitches and pinches. She constantly challenges the relationship between clay, crocheted yarn, and assorted fabrics to combine with one another harmoniously. She is curious about the ideas of contagions and cell mutations. The way cells are seen under a microscope are simply a compilation of tiny patterns. Her work explores the curiosities of what they would look like if the human eye could physically view them.
