creative vision.
strategic thinking.
fierce design.
I believe in the power of strategic thinking. There is no one right answer, but there are few smart solutions. I combine an ability to step back and take a holistic view of the whole picture—I ask the big questions and encourage deeper thinking—and follow that with fierce design. Solutions are on the mark and respond to a greater strategy.

Ask questions. Think big and broad. Take action.

Biography:

I’m a designer, artist, and educator. I believe in using design to promote understanding and further ideas. I believe in research. I believe in making. I believe in the fluidity of learning and educating.

I grew up on Martha’s Vineyard and currently live in Portland, Maine. I completed an MFA in Graphic Design at Maryland Institute College of Art in 2011, a BFA in Graphic Design at Maine College of Art in 2008, and a BA in Social Science and Visual Art at Bennington College in 2003. I love to learn, absorb, and teach.

Along with my love for art and design, I am an avid nester, caretaker of fuzzy beings, and swimmer of oceans.

I believe that anything is possible if you have the courage to try it. I believe in bringing it on. TRUST. In general.

My understanding of my role in life was formed by eighties-era portrayals of young girls. Pippi Longstocking. Punky Brewster. Little Orphan Annie. Fiery red hair. A will to make things happen and enjoy doing them. And a costume that always included kneesocks.
