Cade Jarvis is an artist residing in the energetic city of Portland, ME. Jarvis’s work plays with compositions that play with the interplay between light and simple shapes, and line. Thus resulting in artworks that spark a conversation between what is important about representational imagery and the ideas it brings versus rigid and gestural line work. These topics are a direct result of mixing his love of odd subject matter, urban life and the simplicity of the Modernist and Minimalist periods.
Cade earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 2020 fromMaine College of Art in Portland, Maine. His work has been exhibited in spaces across Maine in places like Carver Hill Gallery in Camden, ME and the Op Box which is hosted by Portland Container Company based out of Portland, ME. He has also been featured in solo shows with Casco Bay Artisans in Portland, ME and Nightshade Gallery in Littleton, NH. When Cade is not in the studio, he is curating the artworks exhibited at Casco Bay Artisans and Edgecomb Potters in Portland as well as exploring the vastness of the world around him.
