Description

'For Melusina' is a series of cerimonial mantles, shields and masks for a pagan figure: my Melusina is a hobo queen. Always working between destruction and reconstruction, playing with chance associations and found objects, the format of the mantle refers, in my poetic universe, to femininity, and follows Joseph Beuys tradition, described in Paul Ardennes's words: "Forme proph©tique de l'expression artistique renouant par-del  les si¨cles, avec la plus ancienne tradition de l'enthousiasme, avec la po©sie originelle: celle, chamanique, h©siodique, des hommes faisant parler les dieux", [Goldberg, Itzhak, Installations, (CNRS Editions, Paris, 2014), 230].

At the crossroads of assemblage art, object and painting, in this series I incorporate heterodox elementsfrom recycled materials to natural elements, usually considered mundane, in association with art. These objects become assemblages through transformation and bricolage.

In other words:

I respond to, and draw in space in a subconscious process, of uncertain bricolages. It is a non linear accumulation, an organic cacophony that gradually builds recognition without knowing. This process withdraws meaning from materiality. My often ephemeral assemblages emanate femininity and invite the beholder into a realm of fantasy where creativity is beauty in poetic madness.
