As a designer, I enjoy working off the computer and working hands-on when the opportunity arises, I often try to incorporate photography and collaging into my design work. For my thesis project I explored exhibition design and curatorial work. The final outcome is to create a show featuring works made of stone, especially stone sculptures, with the intention to bring light to and celebrate the contributions stone artists make within the community.
The geology within Maine is amazing, unique, and has played a large part in the history of the state and the people who live here. My thesis is designed to highlight these aspects by showing the possibilities that artists have with a labor-intensive art form in a digitally based society.
