Description

Certain daily rituals are sacred to me. Walking in the woods, organizing belongings, preparing food ? each a grounding activity providing a quiet space to retreat to beyond the clamor of public life. I design woven metal vessels to implement these moments in celebration of that quiet space. Through a meditative combination of patterning, weaving, and forming, I construct these basket-like forms with intention for an individual?s pursuits: collecting a pie?s worth of apples from a backyard tree, foraging on your daily walk, transporting a harvest from your garden. In the spirit of Shaker design, function comes first, but not at the sacrifice of beauty.

Primarily made with copper sheet with elements of un-dyed canvas, the collection takes on various shapes, sizes, and purposes, united in the simplicity of their design and soft graphite finish.

Each design offers entrance to a sacred space of stillness and solitude. From romantic homesteaders, to city dwellers in search of mental nourishment, this collection will guide you into nearby woods in search of wild berries. They're a reminder to slow down and engage with nature and food.
