Americana Kitchen

Description

My most recent work is inspired by the silhouettes of the 1970?s. This all came from the wallpaper in my grandparent's kitchen, floral and gingham stripes of orange, yellow and green flowers. This wallpaper is what inspired my choice of fabrics and colors, bringing a sense of Americana to my collection. I chose gingham chiffon and organza along with different weights and colors of denim. I decided to have the silhouettes of my garments be reminiscent of some of the silhouettes of the time. Overall I wanted my collection to have some parts of the 70s but not be seen as something that was pulled out of the 70s.
