It takes a hardy New England Yankee to get through a real Maine winter... on an island. Danny Lapointe, the Cushing Island Caretaker gets by just fine with a little help from Maddie, "The Best Island Dog in Casco Bay".

Artist Statement:
Through photography and film I document social landscapes and ways of life that speak to the character of unique places such as Maine. The Maritimes are of particular interest due to the dynamic environment and way of life that appears to be near a turning point of change.
