Artist Statement:
As a Print maker, Illustrator and public artist, Shawn Brewer has worked in various media and areas exploring the art of story telling and sharing the artistic practice with others. Shawn is the founder of Publication Studio at Creative Trails, a day program working with artists with developmental uniquenss. He is also the founder of Outbound press, a live screenprinting print shop based out of Portland, Maine. His work is inspired by underground punk and comic culture enriched by the respect for traditional tools and genres. A lot of his work engages the subjects surreal, fantastic elements of pop culture and media and often uses illustration and comics to explore new stories in these themes.
