Description

For thesis I wanted to link my love of drawing to my love of writing. These five paintings depict scenes and characters from a story I have created for my writing minor. With a love of supernatural stories with heroes, monsters and demons I wanted to create visuals for a story that I would want to read. Fantasy shows, books and movies were the most influential part of my life, which is what inspired me for my thesis. This thesis is something that I might have never done for it links two things that I have been always embarrassed to talk about. My love for supernatural stories and religion. The undertones of the theme of my pieces have to do with me being raised a Catholic, but in no way enforces the religion through the pieces or in the writing. I wanted to take what is traditionally seen as evil and make them seen as something acceptable. Not all good things come from the most cleanest of backgrounds and that is something I wanted to bring up with my thesis.
