Description

When I was around 6 years old, my parents and I went to visit NYC's Central Park. I was mesmerized by the expansive boat pond, when a beautiful white heron swooped down next to me. I remember standing next to it, with our eyes locked. We chilled together for about 5 minutes before it flew away. This personal event was the inspiration for this Graphic Panel assignment in Junior Majors Studio.

Artist Statement:

My work revolves around my love for dramatic lighting and the challenge of effective storytelling. I strive to push the boundaries of realism and to create captivating art using vivid colors and high contrast. My goal is to create magic in the mundane by taking routine subject matters such as sitting on the train or buying lunch and turning them into magical experiences. Much of my work has been inspired by the vibrance of New York City, a place where I spent much of my childhood. Whenever possible, I also try to focus on womens’ empowerment. I am constantly influenced by the many strong and impactful women in my life. They give me the strength and drive to create and share my work with the world.
