Description
I created this piece using a push needle and yarn as one would craft a shag carpet by hand. The question I?m investigating in the project is how do I collaborate with my materials? Some concepts evoked are exuberance, transformation, mascots, and dress.

Artist Statement:
In my art I bring to life inanimate craft materials. I start by asking myself what particular resonance the material I’m working with has. I ask myself what characteristics of this being would be similar and different from humans? When I’m creating, I try to stay open and allow the material to guide me in my decision making process. When finished my work takes on a meditative and humorous aesthetic.
