Project Burden: Hinder

Description

Through the redaction of hundreds of documents, project unburden: Hinder attempts to express the overwhelming process of obtaining legal immigration status in the united states. Lines of text are pushed back while particularly harmful terminology is pushed forward as the writer becomes conscious of the emotionality of the process. Video compilation tells the narrative of the artists experience working with family members over the course of 10+ years of documentation.
