The Sound of Redaction

Description

A compilation of clips revolving around the use of office materials and stationary, this work demonstrates the mounting anxiety associated with the process of filing and decluttering the paper pushing of legal papers associated with the submission of documents to the USCIS for approval of documented status. Ojeda has used black marker to redact information of a sensitive nature required to complete these forms while using a highlighter to call attention to the repetition in confronting harmful terminology utilized within the text. A zoomed in lens removes the persona of the individuals conducting the actions into a loop of monotony with monumental repercussions on the receiver, or in some case non receiver, of these documents.
