My work includes video diaries and commentaries based on historical research of black histories omitted from my education. I create sketches in the forms of self portraiture, photography, and paintings on paper. I obsessively extract meaning out of the object representing the content I am researching, such as the paper bag rule. I then portray a visual account of the research in video form and disperse the work via social media outlets as a way to aid the revolution for black people and others to know the dismissed truths of contributory black histories to american education. We as black americans have been oppressed and portrayed in a negative light by eurocentric media outlets. With the advancements of social media's there is now an even playing field. The revolution may not be televised but it surely will go viral.
