Just A Man

Description

I think individuality owes itself to sources of inspiration that have come before us, and that while we are true, true that we exist as individuals, it is also true that we are all made up; not fake, but conceptualized. This project is a visual essay exploring how gay men adopt hyper-masculine stereotypes and associations to project an image of themselves as masculine. Self-referentiality is utilized as a case study to connect myself to certain objects, music and patterns that exemplify my own involvement in this larger narrative.
