Description
Everyday annoyances, ignorance, and idiocy, at least viewed through humor--is a way to address these topics with a lighter heart. I believe that anything can be scrutinized through the use of humor, as it creates a useful bridge between the comfortable and not so comfortable. Humor as a tool of communication, once realized is an occasion to make people laugh or smile which can also expose a narrative.
My forms reference the shape that I imagine the energy of humor to have. Humor is loud, large, and demanding in its presence. I choose to illustrate characters from pop culture and then place them within a loose narrative that is so ridiculous or exaggerated in a way that can be found humorous by my viewers. For my viewers to view my work, laugh, and then discuss its depictions with a humorous light is my ultimate goal. I feel that people need to remember to have more fun in their day.
