Biography:

Betsy Lewis is an artist currently living and working in Portland, Maine. Her work includes techniques such as hollow forming, forging, and large scale fabrication of non-ferrous metals. Primarily working in Sterling Silver, Pewter, and Steel, she provides uncanny, abject replacements for historical medical instrumentation and modern weaponry.



Professional experience extends to working, assisting, and teaching at the Maine College of Art, Brooklyn Metalworks, and Ornamentum Gallery. Betsy has been awarded several education scholarships from the Peter’s Valley School of Crafts in Layton, New Jersey and the Penland School of Crafts in Bakersville, North Carolina. She has also had the chance to begin showing her work nationally, most notably Craft Forms 2015, while completing her Bachelor’s of Fine Art in Metalsmithing and Jewelry at the Maine College of Art.
