Artist Statement:

My work as a whole focuses on the study of children's illustration in a variety of mediums.

Through each piece I strive to connect with my own childhood, and use that as inspiration to create works of art that children today can relate to. I find inspiration through other modern illustrators in the children's literature community, particularly those that work in collage.

Biography:

Alicia Eafrati is an illustration major recently graduated from Maine College of Art. She has an associates degree in fine arts from White Mountain Community College, has taught a pre-college course on the processes of children’s book illustration, and has collaborated on a published anthology of children’s illustrated works for the community of Lowell, Massachusetts. Alicia has an interest in children’s book illustration and her preferred mediums are collage, watercolor, and textile manipulation. She was born and raised in Berlin, New Hampshire.
