Maya Parry was born in Omaha, Nebraska, a big city surrounded by cornfields and grids made up of paved and dirt roads alike. Living in “the middle” provided an outlet for her appreciation of the overlooked and sometimes forgotten. To this day, she loves the Great Plains and believes that it has some of the most unexpectedly beautiful scenery the United States has to offer. At Maine College of Art & Design she strengthened her artistic voice and began to more deeply understand the importance of her roots as well as her desires for the future.
