Description

This was my final for my junior majors course, focusing on placing 30 characters in a square space. I worked in traditional and digital media, placing down acrylics and cut paper before scanning the piece and finishing with digital touch up.

Artist Statement:

My work as a whole focuses on the study of children's illustration in a variety of mediums.

Through each piece I strive to connect with my own childhood, and use that as inspiration to create works of art that children today can relate to. I find inspiration through other modern illustrators in the children's literature community, particularly those that work in collage.
