When challenged with creating a portrait of Bernie Sanders we concluded that no single image could convey the emotive nature of this presidential candidate so instead we created Berniemojis. This app is available through Apple?s App Store. The app is free but we encourage you to donate to Bernie?s campaign and provide a convenient link that allows you to give as often as you?d like.

Artist Statement:

Scott Nash, Author, Illustrator, Creative Director

Scott has been a student of kid culture for over twenty years. As a founding partner of BIG BLUE DOT, Corey McPherson Nash and NASHBOX, Scott developed an expertise in the branding and creative development of kids products and programming for the entertainment, consumer product and publishing worlds.

In addition to designing identities for Nickelodeon, PBS, ABC, Comedy Central, FX and Corus Entertainment, Scott’s design clients include American Girl (Pleasant Company), Disney, Mattel, Microsoft, Milton Bradley and the Boston Children’s Museum.

He has vast experience developing and producing animated properties for Disney, Nickelodeon and MTV as well as animated and live-action promo spots for Comedy Central, FX, and PBS.

Scott’s work as a designer and illustrator has been recognized by leading trade organizations and publications such as; The Academy for The Arts and Sciences (EMMY award), PROMAX, Broadcast Designers Association, American Institute of Graphic Arts, Society of Illustrators and HOW, Communications Arts, Print and Publishers Weekly Magazines.

He has lectured widely and taught at Boston University, Northeastern University and The Art Institute of Boston. Scott established the Illustration Department at The Maine College of Art where he is currently the Chair.

Scott has illustrated over Fifty children’s books, including Saturday Night at the Dinosaur Stomp and The Bugliest Bug by Carol Diggory Shields, Over The Moon by Rachel Vail, Betsy Who Cried Wolf by Gail Carson Levine, Snow Day!, Beach Day! and Rainy Day! by Patty Lakin, and Flat Stanley by Jeff Brown.

In 2004, Scott made his debut as an author/illustrator of TUFF FLUFF, The Case of Duckies Missing Brain. His most recent novel is titled The High Skies Adventures of Blue Jay the Pirate.

Scott is a graduate of the Swain School of Design and holds a Masters Degree from The Cranbrook Academy of Art.

He lives with his wife, collage artist and illustrator Nancy Gibson Nash on an island off the coast of Portland.
