Description

All the material I use as of now is made up of old fabric scraps, threadbare rags, rusty floorboard nails, tangled frayed strings, old dried plant matter and more. As more and more time passes my memory becomes fragmented, creating new illusions of what I once thought had happened which reflects onto these materials I use.

Artist Statement:

Through layered watercolor, stitched-together fabric scraps, overlapped projection video and sound, I have been interested in showing disintegration of the past and attachment to memories, feelings and personal family histories. How these recollections make up who we are as individual people and the connections we have to where and who we come from. These ideas evolve into an interest in time-travel, the study of wear and time, and discovering new connections in the fragmentations found throughout our lives.
