My senior thesis is an autobiographical comic book titled MECA and ME: A Four Year Journey. It is about my experience at Maine College of Art. The focus of the story is on the anxiety I developed throughout my time at the school and how I have learned to control it. I decided to make my characters anthropomorphic cats because I am able to use exaggerated antics and expressions that combine human desires with feline cunning. This allows me to explore a wide range of emotions that helps to tell the story in an engaging and humorous way. Leaving MECA, I have a greater understanding of how to tell a compelling narrative through my art. My education has prepared me to create comic strips, comic books, graphic novels and any other kind of illustration that comes my way.
