Beach to Beacon 10k

Description
For this class with Drew Hodges, we worked with a real client to create a commemorative poster. The client was the Beach to Beacon 10k Run, founded by Joan Benoit. They approached the class with the task to create a commemorative poster for all the runners who participate in the 10k run every summer. August 2017 would be their 20th year with the race, and they wanted something to give the participants to remember.

Artist Statement:
Nicole Thiel is currently studying graphic design and minoring in writing at Maine College of Art in Portland, Maine. A German born, Maryland native, Nicole comes from a military family of determined and freckled people. In her spare time Nicole likes to step away from the computer with yoga, soccer, hiking, and going to concerts. She enjoys new creative challenges and pushing what it means to be a graphic designer.
