Description

Fivefold Kiss is an in-progress body of work that beings to explore the female gaze and the mysticism often associated with sexually empowered women. I?ve always been drawn to the idea of the witch and the femininity and the ritual associated with it. From the Whore of Babylon, Salem witch trials, and the resurgence of witchcraft in present day?s young women. As a child, I would take my bible upstairs and hunt for the passages about the Witches of Endor and how Saul turned to them when God did not provide the prophecies he needed. My sisters and I found excitement in the forbidden nature of the supernatural. These images examine a modern folktale set in rural New England.
