Description
This is a project I did in my 2015 "Character Design" class. The assignment was to create up to four characters based on a preexisting story and make turn arounds for all four characters and model sheets and dossiers for three of them. The story I focused on is a song called "At the Ceili" sung by the group "Celtic Women." The song is about three Irish women who go to a party to pick up men. I have made turns, model sheets, and dossiers for all three of them as well as a turn around for one of their possible suitors.

Artist Statement:
My senior thesis is an autobiographical comic book titled MECA and ME: A Four Year Journey. It is about my experience at Maine College of Art. The focus of the story is on the anxiety I developed throughout my time at the school and how I have learned to control it.
I decided to make my characters anthropomorphic cats because I am able to use exaggerated antics and expressions that combine human desires with feline cunning. This allows me to explore a wide range of emotions that helps to tell the story in an engaging and humorous way.
Leaving MECA, I have a greater understanding of how to tell a compelling narrative through my art. My education has prepared me to create comic strips, comic books, graphic novels and any other kind of illustration that comes my way.
